Paradise Revival Festival

This festival is produced by Paradisians, for Paradisians. It is the work of many contributors from many different fields. Through the UDA planning process, Paradisians identified values and subsequent projects we collectively want to pursue. More community events was listed as a top project. We are bringing together local recovery groups and organizations so that they may interface with each other and the community they serve.

Overview:The Paradise Revival Festival honors the resiliency of its community members, a gathering that is both a celebration of resiliency and an opportunity to heal through music, art, and workshops. Community members are invited to share their gifts. This is a decentralized participatory event. Recognizing that a community devastated by a disaster is the most suited population to rebuild, we take ownership of our fate and together share our gifts strengthening our community fabric and laying the foundation for Paradise. If you are interested in sharing your gifts please go to the website. www.paradiserevival.com and sign up.

What to expect:
- 7 live local bands (outside stage bring your favorite lawn chair)
- Visionary Hall with: Panel Discussions, workshops and a facilitated visioning process so that we may regain agency over our recovery.
-Free treatments in the Healing space with certified massage and acupuncture practitioners

-free yoga and sound healing sessions.
-Kids space with pumpkins and face painting.
-Local food trucks
-The launch of our community shared tool library
-We will also be giving out $1k worth of gas cards at $20 values, 50 cards total. We know some of you will be traveling long distances "home" for this even and we want to support you.

Shirley Valentine

Wondering what has happened to her youth and feeling stagnant and in a rut, a middle-aged, working class Liverpool housewife finds herself regularly alone and talking to the wall while preparing an evening meal of egg and chips for her emotionally distant husband.

When Shirley’s best friend offers to pay for a trip-for-two to Greece, she packs her bags, leaves a note on the cupboard door in the kitchen, and heads for a fortnight of rest and relaxation.

Filled with warmth, charm and hilariously poignant observations about ordinary life, Shirley Valentine is an anthem to freedom of the soul with a generous dose of salt of the earth.
