Open House at Paradise Fire Station 81 a Success!

Whether it’s a station tour, fire truck exploration, or just a good old-fashioned Q&A, Paradise Fire Station 81 knows what it means to throw a grand re-opening party! On Saturday, May 20th, Station 81, located at 767 Birch Street in Paradise, opened its doors to the public for a three-hour open house as part of the Town’s year-long ToP POP series.

“This was a great event to have the community stop by and check out our remodeled station,” said Battalion Chief Rick Manson. “We were happy to answer some questions about our core capabilities and what goes on in the local station.”

Over the course of the morning, community members stopped by to learn more about the different types of fire equipment Paradise firefighters have available and how they use them in the field. A public demonstration of how to use a fire extinguisher was an important safety training opportunity that was also available and community members were able to engage in that.

In addition, members of the Paradise Rotary Club members came by to learn more about what they could do to help in the community and how to get more involved in public safety. Other visitors to the Station 81 were curious to learn more about what kinds of emergencies the station can help with and how their firefighters respond during calls.
