The Town of Paradise offers various housing programs funded by the state and federal grants aimed to helping residents with home purchases, repairs and reconstruction. These programs include deferred, low- interest loans for first-time homebuyers and homeowners needing repairs.

- First-Time Homebuyer Program: Provides deferred, low-interest loans for down payment assistance to qualifying residents to purchase homes in Paradise. A first-time homebuyer is someone who has not owned a habitable home in the past three years. This program is available to low-to-moderate-income Camp Fire affected residents. A homebuyer workshop, open to anyone interested in purchasing their first home, is on October 4th, call 530-872-6291 x122 to reserve a seat!

- Owner- Occupied Housing Rehabilitation and Reconstruction: Housing rehabilitation/reconstruction program provides deferred, low-interest loans to low- and moderate-income households for health and safety repairs, including complete reconstruction or replacement of manufactured homes destroyed by the Camp Fire. These loans are “gap financing,” meaning they layer with whatever insurance funds the homeowner has available, up to $250,000.
- Multi-Family Rental Housing Development Project: Under CDBG-DR, providing affordable and decent housing, a suitable living environment and economic opportunities especially for low- to moderate-income (LMI) households and special needs communities. These funds will help the Town address the community development objectives outlined by HUD, which include, but are not limited to affirmatively furthering fair housing, affordable housing activities, public infrastructure & facilities improvements, and public services.

These programs are designed to help rebuild the community while providing safe, affordable housing for residents. For more details, visit the Town of Paradise Housing page.
