ANNOUNCEMENTS
Enrollment in the Private Hazard Tree Removal Program ends on October 30th
Deadlines are approaching for hazardous tree removal! If you haven’t enrolled in any program and you wish to remove your hazardous trees yourself, please contact certified arborists to ensure they can remove your trees before December 4th – the deadline for assessing, marking, cutting, and removing trees from your property. Properties in the Town of Paradise also need to be certified clear of hazardous trees through a compliance inspection or signed Inspection Access Form by this date in the Private Program. If you are able to contract with an arborist in time, please enroll in the Private Program by October 30th by calling the Tree ROE Center at 530.552.3030. Or, enrollment in the Government Hazard Tree Removal is still open. Visit buttecountyrecovers.org for more information.
Transportation Study Funded by EDA Grant
The Town of Paradise took a major step forward in recovery this week with the award of $1.8 million from the Economic Development Administration (EDA) for a comprehensive transportation study. This study will conduct a holistic analysis of the Paradise transportation network and will outline critical gaps in infrastructure, conflicts, pinch points and other barriers to potential future evacuation events. Using this information, the study will identify priorities and a plan for town-wide safety and circulation improvements.
What’s New:
-
Assessments are Underway in the Government Hazard Tree Removal Program. Step 1 in the Government Hazard Tree Removal Program has begun. Arcadis and their subcontractors MGE and Davey – the certified arborists contracted for assessments in the Government Program – are on private property with ROEs in place assessing and marking trees for removal. As trees are assessed and marked, they are entered into a database to be tracked through the removal process. Tree removal will begin when tree-felling contracts are finalized under the Government Hazard Tree Removal Program. If you have questions about markings on your trees, please call the Tree Advocates at the Town of Paradise and we can share some common markings from the various tree removal programs now underway. Tree Advocates can be reached at 530.872.6291 x 162 or 163 or trees@townofparadise.com.
