Some Good News
The first commercial rebuild since the Camp Fire celebrated its groundbreaking Saturday, May 16th. Our Savior Lutheran Church is rebuilding at its original location (6404 Pentz Road). The event was broadcast via Facebook live. The church is hoping to open its doors by Christmas 2020. Congratulations!
Upcoming: State of the Town Focus of June Virtual Community Information Meeting. Tuesday, June 2nd at 6pm the Town of Paradise will hold a virtual meeting via its Facebook and YouTube pages. Attendees will hear from several areas of the Town as they provide progress on the rebuild process. Butte County’s Plan to Reopen: Butte County has created a page on their website that includes the plan to reopen, including industry specific measures that need to be taken. The Government Hazard Tree Program is still accepting ROEs and Inspection Access Forms. Inspections are scheduled to begin in mid-June, and tree felling is scheduled to begin in July. The Butte Strong Fund in partnership with North Valley Community Foundation and Sierra Nevada Brewery, have awarded the Town of Paradise a $1 million dollar grant to support the Town’s rebuild incentive program. This grant assists homeowners by paying a portion of the permit fees for Camp Fire survivors who are rebuilding in the Town of Paradise.
Looking to serve your community during the rebuild? The Town of Paradise is looking to fill three vacant positions on the Paradise Planning Commission. One term will end June 20, 2023, two terms end June 30, 2024. Any registered voter in the Town of Paradise is eligible to apply. Deadline to apply is 5pm on May 26, 2020.
