Some Good News

The first commercial rebuild since the Camp Fire celebrated its groundbreaking Saturday, May 16th. Our Savior Lutheran Church is rebuilding at its original location (6404 Pentz Road). The event was broadcast via Facebook live. The church is hoping to open its doors by Christmas 2020. Congratulations!    

What’s New:

• Upcoming: State of the Town Focus of June Virtual Community Information Meeting. Tuesday, June 2nd at 6pm the Town of Paradise will hold a virtual meeting via its Facebook and YouTube pages.  Attendees will hear from several areas of the Town as they provide progress on the rebuild process.  Please sign up for the email newsletter at makeitparadise.org for reminders and further information.

• Butte County’s Plan to Reopen: Butte County has created a page on their website that includes the plan to reopen, including industry specific measures that need to be taken.  The information listed is important to limit and slow spread of COVID-19 in our county. • The Government Hazard Tree Program is still accepting ROEs and Inspection Access Forms.  Inspections are scheduled to begin in mid-June, and tree felling is scheduled to begin in July.  Download your ROE or inspection Access form here.  You can mail the form to 205 Mira Loma Dr., Ste 50, Oroville CA 95965 or email to TreeROE@buttecounty.net.  For questions, call the Tree ROE Information line at (530) 552-3030. 

• The Butte Strong Fund in partnership with North Valley Community Foundation and Sierra Nevada Brewery, have awarded the Town of Paradise a $1 million dollar grant to support the Town’s rebuild incentive program.  This grant assists homeowners by paying a portion of the permit fees for Camp Fire survivors who are rebuilding in the Town of Paradise.  

• Looking to serve your community during the rebuild? The Town of Paradise is looking to fill three vacant positions on the Paradise Planning Commission.  One term will end June 20, 2023, two terms end June 30, 2024.  Any registered voter in the Town of Paradise is eligible to apply.
