Some Good News
The Town of Paradise received its 1,000th building permit application after the Camp Fire on Wednesday, May 27th! The first building permit was issued on March 28th, 2019 to the Buzzard family. The rate of building permits has far exceeded expectations and the momentum is full speed ahead.

Upcoming: State of the Town: Part 1- June Virtual Community Information Meeting. Tuesday, June 2nd at 6pm the Town of Paradise will hold a virtual meeting via its Facebook and YouTube pages. Attendees will hear from several agencies as they provide progress on the rebuild process and upcoming projects. Rebuild Paradise Foundation awards nearly $52,000 to Camp Fire builds. These funds are part of the Missing Middle grant program and are used to reimburse qualified applicants for part of their pre-construction costs and help incentivize their return home. If you are planning on building in the Camp Fire footprint, please visit the Rebuild Paradise grants page for more information. The Butte County ROE Center is still accepting ROEs and Inspection Access Forms. Inspections are scheduled to begin in mid-June, and tree felling is scheduled to begin in July. Download your ROE or inspection Access form here. You can mail the form to 205 Mira Loma Dr., Ste 50, Oroville CA 95965 or email to TreeROE@buttecounty.net. Help keep Paradise fire safe! If you own a lot in Paradise, it is your responsibility to maintain it. If you need help clearing your lot of weeds and brush, you can contact a local company who can do the work for you. Find a list of companies with Paradise Business Licenses here.

Due to COVID-19 and public safety, the June Party in the Park is cancelled. The Paradise Chamber Board of Directors will review monthly to determine viability in accordance with guidance from Butte County Department of Public Health.

Last Thursday, Paradise 8th graders received a special send off to high school. Students drove to the designated graduation area, got out of their cars and received their donation, were handed a goodie bag and got their picture taken. A video of the event will be compiled and shared via social media. Congratulations to all 42 graduates!

The tradition of American Flags on Memorial Day continues in Paradise. Once again, volunteers gathered (social distancing) to help place 400 American flags along the Skyway through town on Memorial Day. The placing of flags is a time honored, and treasured tradition with residents.
