Deadline to Participate is this Friday! The Broadband needs assessment survey is closing Friday at 5pm PST and we invite you to participate today. Conducted by the Center for Economic Development, on behalf of the Town of Paradise, this survey will gather information about internet usage and needs of residents. It also assesses the interest residents may have in purchasing improved internet services if they were to become available. Take the survey here.

Attention Paradise Businesses!

The Butte Business Stabilization Program is now accepting applications!  $235,000 has been allocated specifically for businesses located in the Town of Paradise. Apply now through October 5, 2020 for grants up to $25,000.  Visit the website for more information or to apply. Both For-Profit businesses and Non-Profit organizations are encouraged to apply.

What’s New:

  •    Government Hazard Tree Removal Update: The Government Hazard Tree Removal Program is currently in the field assessing properties for hazardous trees (see attached flyer for details). The tree felling has not yet begun as CalRecycle works through the contracting process. The Town of Paradise will update property owners on the status of tree felling under Government Program as information becomes available from the State.

  • Resources for Those Affected by North Complex Fire

    If you or a loved one are currently impacted by the North Complex Fire, resources are available. In Butte/Glenn Counties, please call 2-1-1.  Outside Butte/Glenn Counties call toll free: 1-866-916-3566 or text zip code to 898-211

  •   Paradise Recreation and Park District Need Your Help!  PRPD  encompasses the communities of Paradise, Magalia, Concow, Butte Creek Canyon and everywhere in between. They are seeking YOUR creative ideas regarding new park projects and improvements to existing parks. Get those creative juices flowing and visit their website to fill out a survey. Note: each park or idea requires a new form. 

  • Need Help With Weed Abatement or Creating Defensible Space?

    FRAP (Fuels Reduction Assistance Program) is a volunteer based program to help property owners protect life and property from the threat of wildfire during fire season by assisting them with defensible space (brush removal, limbing and weed abatement) and some basic tree removal (dead and dying trees in the 100′ defensible space). This program is run through Paradise Alliance Church, so call 530-877-7069 for questions and to sign up. Or, get information and sign up online at: www.fuelsreduction.org

  • Astronomy on the Lake CANCELED.  Due to the smoke cover and air quality concerns, PRPD is saddened to announce Astronomy on the Lake scheduled for this Friday, September 18th, is canceled. The event is rescheduled for October 16th.  If you have registered and unable to participate in October, you may receive a refund. Please call (530) 872-6339.

  • The Tuesday Morning Farmer’s Market is BACK!   This favorite weekly community event re-opened September 15th and is located at the Paradise Alliance Church (6491 Clark Road) from 7:30am – 12:00pm.  Fruits, veggies and more!

  •   Outreach Continues to Those Living in RVs.  The Town of Paradise is conducting on-going outreach and communication to better understand barriers and circumstances of property owners during their effort to rebuild.  The Rebuild Advocates located at the Building Resiliency Center (BRC) are available Monday – Friday to listen and provide resources and assistance in navigating available options.   •   The Building Resiliency Center (BRC) Continues to Be Open.  The BRC continues to maintain operations during the COVID-19 pandemic to assist those seeking to rebuild.  The Center is open by appointment only and masks are required. Appointments for permitting, building questions, inspections, planning and septic are available same day or next day.  The Rebuild Advocates are available to answer any questions you may have.   •   Have questions regarding your rebuild? Rebuild Advocates are here to help!  If you need help navigating the rebuild process, the Town of Paradise has Rebuild Advocates available to assist.  They can help with the following:  Navigating insurance, FEMA or SBA, understanding additional financing options, selecting a contractor, submitting plants, or any part of the rebuild process.  They are available at the Building Resiliency Center by appointment only.  Please call 530.872.6291 x429 x430 to make an in-person (depending on COVID status) or phone appointment today!
